Cape Town - Kanye West has caused a lot of drama and outrage with his recent comments about slavery being a choice and, not surprisingly, a lot of his fans have lost respect for him.

Some of his celebrity friends called his comments “irresponsible”, but Chris Brown wasn’t too scared to call Kanye a “clown”.

According to Rap Up, in an Instagram post he later deleted, Chris wrote:

“THIS MAN IS A CLOWN! OUR SONG JUST WENT PLATINUM BUT F**K THAT. PLEASE BLACK PEOPLE . . . DO NOT FOLLOW THIS NI**A ON HIS PATH TO DESTRUCTION! WHATEVER HELP U THINK I NEED . . . GET IT FOR HIM ASAP! IMA FAN OF THIS MANS MUSIC SO WHAT HE SAYS IS LISTENED TO AND INTERNALIZED. WAKE THE HELL UP KANYE . . . PLEASE. SLAVERY WAS A CHOICE???????? What?????? (sic)”

Kanye featured Chris in the song Waves that received a platinum certification from the RIAA in April this year.

Chris joined several other celebrities disappointed by Kanye’s statements, such as Meek Mill, Will.i.am and Talib Kweli.

The 28-year-old Loyal singer explained why he deleted the post by posting a video of Will.i.am voicing his own issues with Kanye and captioned it: “HE ARTICULATED THIS A LOT BETTER THAN I COULD’VE. I DELETED MY POST BECAUSE OF THE IGNORANCE IT REPRESENTED WITH MY DELIVERY. I WANT KANYE TO SHINE AS A LEADER, NOT FLICKER AS PAWN. (sic)”

In the video Will.i.am shares how hurt he is by Kanye’s comments because his grandmother and great-grandmother were also enslaved people.
