Cole Sprouse was arrested over the weekend after joining the protests after the murder of George Floyd.
Protesters have been flooding the streets in the US after a police officer murdered the 46-year-old black man. After apprehending Floyd he pressed his knee on his neck, cutting off the blood supply to his brain, an autopsy report revealed. Officer Derek Chauvin has since been fired and charged with third-degree murder.

Cole Sprouse was one of many celebrities who came out over the weekend to join the Black Lives Matter protests – others include Kendrick Sampson, Halsey, Michael B Jordan and Ariana Grande – and revealed on Monday he was arrested during a peaceful demonstration.
The Riverdale star wrote on Instagram: "A group of peaceful protesters, myself included, were arrested yesterday in Santa Monica. So before the voracious horde of media sensationalism decides to somehow turn it about me, there’s a clear need to speak about the circumstances: Black Lives Matter."
He added: "It needs to be stated that as a straight white man, and a public figure, the institutional consequences of my detainment are nothing in comparison to others within the movement. This is ABSOLUTELY not a narrative about me, and I hope the media doesn’t make it such. This is, and will be, a time about standing ground near others as a situation escalates, providing educated support, demonstrating and doing the right thing. This is precisely the time to contemplate what it means to stand as an ally. I hope others in my position do as well."
The actor went on to use the post to redirect fans to donate and sign a petition raising awareness for the Black Lives Matter movement.
