Cape Town – Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin are engaged to be married and it’s a lot to process.
ICYMI, Justin reportedly got down on one knee in a restaurant at a resort in the Bahamas on Saturday night and asked Hailey to be his wife. She said yes.
While the couple have not yet confirmed the news, both Justin and Hailey’s parents have celebrated the engagement on their social media and Hailey has been spotted with a massive ring.

1. The engagement
The engagement took place on Saturday night. The people in the restaurant, including Hailey and Justin, were dancing when the Sorry hitmaker’s security guards asked for everyone to put their phones away as something special was about to happen, TMZ reported.
“They are engaged and it happened Saturday night in front of a crowd in Baker's Bay,” a source told E! News. “The proposal was a very happy moment and Hailey was taken off guard, her face was in shock but you could tell they are both so in love.”
2. The ring
On Sunday, the couple continued to celebrate their happy news at Nippers Beach Bar & Grill on Great Guana Cay in the Bahamas where Hailey showed of her new bling.
A source told E! News: “Justin made arrangements for the ring when they were in NYC and knew that he wanted to propose to her.”

3. Parents approval
Shortly after news about the engagement broke Justin’s dad, Jeremy shared a cryptic post on Instagram, hinting his approval.

According to People magazine, Hailey’s actor dad, Stephen shared his approval in a since deleted tweet, saying: “Sweet smile on my face! me & wife (Kennya) Always pray 4 Gods will!! He is moving in hearts of JB&HB. Let’s all pray for His will to be done Love you 2 so much!!!”
4. Justin’s previous marriage comments
While the engagement came as a surprise to many, Justin actually spoke about marrying Hailey back in 2016.
In a cover interview with GQ magazine, the 24-year-old opened up about his then relationship with the 21-year-old and why he wasn’t in a hurry to settle down.
“I don’t want to put anyone in a position where they feel like I'm only theirs, only to be hurt in the end,” he shared, adding that he really doesn’t want to hurt her.
“I know that in the past I’ve hurt people and said things that I didn't mean to make them happy in the moment. So, now I'm just more so looking at the future, making sure I'm not damaging them. What if Hailey ends up being the girl I’m gonna marry, right? If I rush into anything, if I damage her, then it’s always gonna be damaged.”
