Demi completed 60 days in rehab following an apparent overdose at her Hollywood Hills home on 24 July, E! News reported.
The Sober hitmaker was hospitalised for two weeks before being transferred to a rehab centre.
In her first and only statement since the incident, Demi wrote: “What I've learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time.”
“I want to thank God for keeping me alive and well,” she continued, adding that she was “forever grateful” for the support of her fans and crediting the staff of Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles with saving her life.
