Cape Town - Meghan Markle’s mother has arrived in London to help her daughter with last-minute preparations.

According to US Weekly, Doria Ragland is staying at Kensington Palace and will soon meet members of the royal family, including the queen, Prince Charles and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

“Doria will be meeting Harry and Meghan’s nearest and dearest while she’s here, including close friend Jessica Mulroney, who arrives on Monday,” a royal insider revealed.

“It’s no doubt a stressful and very busy time for Meghan so having her mother by her side, especially on Mother’s Day, will no doubt alleviate some of those nerves.”

An insider said the 61-year-old yoga instructor, along with Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle (73), will join their daughter and Prince Harry at a private wedding rehearsal at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle next week.

Metro News reports that the former Suits star’s dad is on his way to London, where he’ll walk his daughter down the aisle.

Earlier this week, the former Hollywood lighting director, who’s said he’d “love” to walk Meghan down the aisle, was snapped reading articles about the royal wedding.

Kensington Palace in a statement emphasised the important roles Meghan’s parents will play in the wedding, Mirror News reports.

“Prince Harry and Ms Markle are very much looking forward to welcoming Ms Markle’s parents to Windsor for the wedding,” the statement read.

“Mr Thomas Markle and Ms Doria Ragland will be arriving in the UK in the week of the wedding, allowing time for Prince Harry’s family, including the queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, to spend time with them before the big day.

“Both of the bride’s parents will have important roles in the wedding. On the morning of the wedding, Ms Ragland will travel with Ms Markle by car to Windsor Castle.

“Mr Markle will walk his daughter down the aisle of St George’s Chapel. Ms Markle is delighted to have her parents by her side on this important and happy occasion.”

Meghan and Prince Harry are set to tie the knot on 19 May.
