Cape Town – Meghan Markle made a surprise call to Holly Lynch, a member of parliament in the UK, this week.
On Tuesday, the MP, along with other female members of parliament, wrote and signed a letter to the duchess saying they stand by her as she continues to battle the tabloid press with ongoing lawsuits.
In case you missed it, Meghan and Harry have filed several lawsuits against various publications over the unlawful publication of a private letter and their relentless bashing and misleading copy and narrative of the royal couple.

The letter expressed how deeply concerning it was that the press is choosing "outdated" copy with "colonial undertones" and added that they understand the abuse and intimidation that comes with being a woman in power.
"As women MPs of all political persuasions, we wanted to express our solidarity with you in taking a stand," the letter read.
On Wednesday, speaking to political correspondent Joe Pike, Holly shared, "Here in Westminster, I got a phone call. It was Buckingham Palace asking me was I available to speak to the Duchess of Sussex.
"She was calling to thank myself and other women MPs for standing with her, sending the open letter to say we as women in public office absolutely understand what she's going through, although in very different public roles. We stand with her in solidarity to say we shouldn't be tearing down women in public life through the press or otherwise," Holly said.
"She was pleased to have seen that letter," Holly continued. The two also shared experiences about being a new mom in the public eye and how challenging that can be on top of everything else.
So Holly concluded, "She's here, she's married our prince, they've got a young son. We really want to welcome her to our society, and I'm afraid not all the articles in our national press really reflect that, and it's time that that stops."
