Cape Town – Samantha Markle, the outspoken half-sister of the Duchess of Sussex, travelled to London to speak to Meghan but hasn’t been able to meet with her.

In a televised interview with British Channel 5, Samantha revealed she travelled to London not only for sight-seeing but to “speak the wishes and thoughts and sentiments” of her and Meghan’s father, Thomas.

The 53-year-old went on to reveal that no formal arrangements were made for her to meet Meghan, but she still hoped to see her.

“I was hoping maybe we would have the chance to speak—that she would know I was here. But I don't think that's going to happen.”

During the interview Samantha discussed controversies that have made headlines worldwide, since Meghan and Prince Harry went public with their engagement, including Thomas’ staged paparazzi photos as well as numerous public outbursts against Meghan and the royal family.

Show host Jeremy Irvine proceeded to question Samantha’s motives for constantly dragging her half-sister’s name online including an incident in which Samantha said she would hold Meghan responsible should their father die.

“You have insulted Meghan so much, including blaming her for her father's death while he's still alive,” Jeremy said.

Making excuses, Samantha responded: “But I wonder how you would feel. Is it more insulting that people would respond to feeling disregarded and feeling ignored or is best that everyone just continues saying nothing?”

Not taking responsibility for the comments she has made over the months, Samantha blames the media for her actions.

“In the beginning, when we spoke publicly, I thought we were being openhearted and even favourable. That fell on deaf ears, and the media turned it into something that it was not,” Samantha said that she was always just trying to protect her dad and when private channels were ignored, they went public.

Trying to make amends, Samantha shared a message to Meghan as if she were watching the interview.

She said: “There is so much water under the bridge and so much has spun out of control, that was never intended to… Everybody was hurt by not being included of invited to the wedding but I felt as though it could’ve all been nipped in the bud had everyone been included and we all just agreed to move forward with positive resolve and the hurt feelings wouldn’t have snowballed, but believe it or not, it doesn’t mean that we love you any less.”

She added: “Moving forward, I apologise and I wish things could be different.”
