Cape Town - According to Men’s Fitness, Michael B Jordan had no time to fool around while getting in shape for his role as villain Killmonger in Marvel’s Black Panther, the movie that is generating all kinds of buzz and is set to hit Mzansi cinemas on 16 February.

Apparently the Creed actor’s physique was tested like never before – he had to eat six meals and work out three times a day to get in shape for the role. Talking to Ellen DeGeneres on her show, he said he “just decided to dedicate everything to getting in shape”.

The actor was working out so much he had to drink almost six litres of water a day. “Do you know how often you have to use the bathroom?” he joked.

But the biggest price he paid wasn’t physical it seems. According to E! Online, he worked out to such an extent that it had a serious effect on his social life. Telling Ellen, “It's hard to go out to a club or a party when you're like, 'Oh, wait! Meal prep! We gotta go pop this thing in the microwave and eat food... It's tough to socialize when you gotta get in shape like that.”

Ellen jokingly asked Michael if he’d ever consider playing a lazy character who simply lounges and does “nothing at all [besides] gain weight”, with the actor saying, “Imma work on that”.

But it seems the actor isn’t slowing down anytime soon as Yahoo reports he’s keeping up his physique for Creed 2. Who knows when Jordan’s social life will finally get back on track?
