Johannesburg – South Africans were filled with pride to find that a number of local stars would portray characters in Marvel’s highly anticipated Black Panther film.

The movie, which hit cinemas worldwide on 16 February, not only stars award-winning Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o, but SA’s very own Atandwa Kani, John Kani and Connie Chiume.
Speaking to Channel24’s Nikita Coetzee, John Kani, who plays the role of King T’Chaka, opened up about what Black Panther means to him and what it will mean for our future generations. The legendary actor also told us what he would do if he could get his hands on just a tiny bit of Wakanda’s most precious resource – Vibranium.
