Johannesburg - After her collaboration with Kyle Deutsch on Lonely Fool last year, singer Kelly Khumalo has finally released her first gospel single titled Jehova from her much anticipated eighth studio album.

Having been discovered in the church, the singer says Jehova which features emcee J Flo, brings her very decorated career full circle as she is back where she fell in love with music and decided to pursue it as a career.

Speaking to DRUM on why she decided to go the gospel route, the Asine hit-maker revealed that her fans had requested her to release gospel music.

“It’s been almost 15 years in the music industry and I’m still going strong and I owe it all to God, plus my fans have been asking for years. So it makes sense for me to release a Gospel song,” she said.

Kelly also revealed how everything she had been through inspired her to write the song and made the writing process much easier.

“God stood very firm by my side.

“The writing process was heavenly, all I had to do was to tap into all my experiences with God and the words kept pouring in.”

On what people should take away from her song, the singer had an inspirational message for her fans.

“We can all do it through Christ.”
