Cape Town - It appears R Kelly’s woes are far from over.
The R&B singer has been charged with 11 new counts of sexual assault, E! Online reports.
Court records show the charges relate to criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Of the aggravated criminal sexual abuse charges, three of the alleged victims are between the ages of 13 and 16.
Earlier this year the 52-year-old was in court facing similar charges. He pleaded not guilty and was released on bail, BBC news reports.
Dozens of women have come forward over the years accusing the entertainer of abusing them.
In January a documentary series, Surviving R. Kelly, showed some of his alleged victims speaking out about their experiences with the I believe I Can Fly hit maker.
R. Kelly has repeatedly denied the claims.
"He still maintains his innocence and denies all accusations brought against him by Jerhonda Pace in any state moving forward. He looks forward to a swift and speedy trial,” the star’s crisis manager, Darrell Johnson, said.
Pace, a 26-year-old Chicago woman who’s listed as JP in court documents, posted a public message on her Facebook page, CNN reports.
"Yes, I am aware of the 11 new counts against R Kelly. Yes, all new counts are related to my case," she wrote.
"Yes, I know his fans are mad about it. Please, DO NOT contact me telling me how I'm wrong for pursuing criminal charges all of these years later. Blah! No matter how 'wrong' you think I am, the law is on my side, a MINOR at the time. Carry on."
According to a spokesperson for Cook county sheriff’s office, the singer is scheduled to appear in court on 6 June.
