Cape Town – Laverne Cox released her debut single and music video on Friday and it’s amazing.
The song is called Beat for The Gods and makes reference to doing make-up really well. According to an interview with Out Magazine Laverne was inspired to create the song when her make-up artist did an incredible job before an event one day. Laverne made history recently by gracing the local cover of Cosmopolitan Magazine; making her the first transgender person to be on the cover of Cosmo anywhere in the world.
Laverne will be hosting Kim Kardashian's competition reality series Glam Masters.
The song’s dance beat is accompanied by fun and playful lyrics that made us want to get up and go party. The video also features Transparent star Trace Lysette who looks amazing.
