Cape Town - The Fixer actress Kerry Washington surprised fans when she recently announced that she will be directing an episode of Issa Rae’s HBO hit series, Insecure in its fourth season.

The series is set to air in 2020.

In a video posted onto her Twitter page, an excited Kerry raps into a mirror about directing the hit show.

"Here we go, I’m about to direct Insecure on HBO and it’s not a Scandal, I’m about to handle it because this cast is fire and the show is mine,” she raps into the camera, much like how Issa Rae usually does on some episodes of Insecure.

At that point Issa Rae walks in and they laugh together.

"I’m a little INSECURE about my Mirror B*tch. But I’m excited for @IssaRae to show me how it’s done. #KerryDirectsInsecure," Kerry captioned the post.

This will also not be the first time Kerry has directed.  She was given the opportunity to direct an episode of her hit series, Scandal (The Fixer) in its last season in 2018.

Issa announced on her Instagram page that season four of the Insecure has begun filming.

The show is based on Rae’s web series The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl. Insecure follows Issa as Issa Dee, and her group of friends, as she tries to balance work, love, and life in Los Angeles.
