Cape Town - Actress Letoya Makhene will be leaving Generations: The Legacy after four years.
The actress joined the soapie after it was relaunched in 2014. She portrayed Tshidi Phakade who viewers had a love-hate relationship with her due to her mischievous ways.
According to producers she is taking some time away from the small screen to focus on motherhood and explore opportunities in the music industry.
Speaking to Move! Letoya said, "I have loved every moment on Generations: The Legacy. This is such a bitter sweet moment for me as I have come to love playing Tshidi Phakade.
"I will miss my colleagues and the friends I have made on the show. This is not goodbye, it’s just, ‘see you later,’ she said.
Generations: The Legacy executive producer Mfundi Vundla sings her praises as a force to be reckoned with.
"Letoya Makhene is one of the most talented actresses I have worked with. She is highly professional and dedicated to her craft. We will miss her wit and sense of purpose," he said.
Even though it’s bittersweet news for viewers, they will still be able to see her on screen for the next two months.
