The series is inspired by the traditional Indian pre-wedding tradition called the Sangeet. As per tradition, the families of the couple come together before the wedding ceremony to celebrate the upcoming nuptials. It usually involves singing and dancing; some choreographed some not.
The tradition played an important role in Priyanka and Nick's wedding last year.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Priyanka wrote: "At our wedding, both of our families came together to perform a sangeet. A performance (dance-off competition style) that celebrated our love story, one of the most unforgettable moments from a very special time in our lives."
"@nickjonas and I are excited to announce a new, currently untitled project (we're still working on it!!) that celebrates the love and magic that comes from friends and family that join together through music and dance the night before a wedding. It's our #SangeetProject."

Amazon describes the show as "a celebration of the love, marriage and magic that ensues when friends and family come together through music and dance the evening before the wedding."
Each episode will follow an engaged couple, their wedding party, friends and family, as they prepare for the wedding and rehearse for their dance performances.
