Cape Town - While many viewers anticipate the return of talk show host Wendy Williams to The Wendy Williams Show, the staff of the show seem to be enjoying every moment of her absence.
According to an insider, who spoke to Radar Online, the employees of the show feel that work is a lot easier now that the 54-year-old and her husband Kevin Hunter, are not around due to health issues and reported marital woes.
“It has been like a vacation having guest hosts,” the insider began.
“Everyone is laughing and smiling and working together. We all had gotten so used to walking on eggshells around Wendy and Kevin, we forgot what a fun work environment was.”
The source also told the publication that although the staff had been worried about losing their jobs, they now believe that the show could survive without Wendy and don’t want her to return “since there were so many unwritten rules with working with Wendy.”
“At first the staff was worried about losing their jobs. Now it looks like the show can survive without Wendy, and a lot of people don’t want her to return.”
On how Kevin Hunter allegedly made the work environment a “nightmare”, the source revealed that he was moody and no one could disagree with him.
“No one was allowed to disagree with him,”
“You never knew what mood Wendy or Kevin were going to be in.”
On the other hand, another source recently told Hollywood Life that Wendy was excited to be returning to her show as she believed she was irreplaceable.
“Wendy is confident that she is irreplaceable on her own show, no one can do what she does as well. While Wendy still has no timetable as to when she will return, she is excited and looking forward to returning as soon as possible,” the source said.
