Television and radio presenter Relebogile
Mabotja has bid farewell to Metro FM after being with the station for a year.
The star hosted her last show yesterday.
The actress took to Instagram to announce
her final time on-air: “Lend me your ears tomorrow as I bid you farewell in my
final show at Metro FM.”
Relebogile started on The Fresh Breakfast Show
alongside DJ Fresh before moving to drivetime show The Kings Suite, hosted by SPHEctacula
and DJ Naves.
Speaking to DRUM about her Metro FM journey,
the bubbly media personality said, “My experience at Metro FM was one of
growth. It’s great that the industry recognised my talent with the SA Radio
Awards nomination [in the commercial news bulletin reader category] that I
received. I’ll forever be grateful for my time at Metro FM and the new skills
that I learnt.”
She also put rumours of being “surprisingly
dismissed” to rest. The presenter said she previously discussed leaving the
station long before the public got to know about the production changes that Mtero
FM recently announced.
“It’s discussions we had before I left. No
parties were surprised or aggrieved by the time the line-up announcement was
made. I left Metro FM on good terms and still consider the station family,” Relebogile
“It was a difficult decision to leave Metro
FM, a station that I had come to call home. I left to pursue new personal goals
that weren’t in line with staying at the station.”
She also shared that she would still love to
return to radio in the future, if the right opportunity comes along.
