It has been five months since actor Dumi Masilela was shot and killed in an attempted hijacking in Tembisa. Now his widow, Simphiwe Ngema, has opened up to True Love magazine about the days surrounding his tragic death. The actress said she thought Dumi knew he was going to die soon. “Dumi died on Wednesday and I think he knew he was going to die.”

“We were sitting in our room and he said to me, ‘Babe we’ve been through so much but we’ve kept our relationship’,” she told the publication. Sim also stated Dumi started acting strange and became moody and that’s when she felt that something was wrong with her husband. “He stopped talking to me which was weird, but when we’d go to bed, he’d hold me tightly. When I asked what was wrong he didn’t give me an answer.”

According to Channel24, Dumi and a friend were driving a VW Golf GTI 7 on the night of the attempted hijacking. They parked it on the side of the road in Tembisa when a black Jeep approached them.

When the former Rhythm City star tried to flee, a car chase ensued and one of the hijacker opened fire and shot Dumi. He was rushed to Tembisa hospital where he eventually lost his life.
