Local musician Zakes Bantwini, recently visited a school in Soweto where he taught a group of pupils how to sing his well-known house song Ghetto.
In the video which was shared on Instagram by Zakes’ wife Nandi Madida who he recently celebrated his two year wedding anniversary with. The Wasting my time hit maker can be seen conducting a music lesson with a group of learners.
“This made my heart so happy! @Zakesbantwini teaching these talented kids from Soweto how to sing “Ghetto”. I loved watching them rehearse,” Nandi captioned the post in which her husband can be seen in the middle of a classroom surrounded by excited students as they sing Ghetto.

of education especially for the youth.
“I’ve been in this industry for a very long time and it’s not because I’m smart or because I am very talented, but it’s because I went to school. I tell people that school helps you to think differently,” he said.
Zakes also explained the importance of being an educated artists and that not enough local celebrities were encouraging the youth to become that,
“Every time I go to music workshops where people talk to artists, I feel like they are lying. Telling people that they don’t need school is a lie,” said Zakes.
“Maybe you don’t need school but don’t tell other artists that they also don’t need school because you are robbing them of their careers.”
