Actress Zikhona Sodlaka’s mother passed away this over the weekend in Mthatha, Eastern Cape.
The actress, who is usually very private about her life, revealed on social media that her mother has been ill for quite some time and that she will be laid to rest this coming Saturday in Mthatha.
“I am deeply saddened at the sudden passing of my beloved mother, though she had been ill for a while, nothing in the world ever prepared my family and I for the pain and grief we carry heavily in our hearts,” Zikhona admitted in the Instagram post.
“I am blessed though to be surrounded by so many that are carrying me through this difficult time, with their prayers, support and love. I see you and I thank you for being there. We are laying mama to rest on Saturday 13th April,” she added.
Speaking to Move! her publicist Jacqui Mabuza said she doesn’t want to divulge too much information about Zikhona’s mother and would not add to the information Zikhona had already given in her post.
“We had a small prayer over the weekend here in Joburg and she was not in a good space as you can imagine losing a mom. She is at home mourning with her family in the Eastern Cape now,” she said.
