As Women’s Month comes to an end, there’s nothing more amazing than Menzi Ngubane’s talk with young men about treating women better.
Addressing the students of Mangosuthu University of Technology as the keynote speaker, Menzi got very passionate when speaking about men who beat women. “What makes you think that is okay?” he asked the crowd in a video that was posted onto his Instagram page.
“I have daughters at home, they are my children, and I don’t even beat them, even though they are mine – I would rather sit them down and understand why a certain thing happened, and then conclude by telling them never to do it again. That’s how you deal with issues,” he said.
“Now, some of you don’t even have children, but you find it okay to take a woman and beat her up, just to show how much of a man you are – that’s not being a man, in fact, that’s being a coward,” he stressed.
“Come to people like us if you want to pick a fight, we’ll show you.” Said the Isibaya actor.

The Isibaya actor, who got married to his wife, Sikelelwa Sishuba last year, told DRUM at his traditional wedding that he learned to be a good husband from his father, Ndodeni Ngubane.
“They should not fight. His mother was the one who was stubborn and temperamental, but we didn’t fight. And looking at her [Sikelelwa] she is just like my wife,” Ndodeni said.
