Actress Nomzamo Mbatha didn’t see the backlash coming when she congratulated actress Thuso Mbedu for getting the lead role in a US series called Underground Railroad.

When the two-time Emmy nominee announced the news, congratulatory messages from her peers came flooding in and Nomzamo was one of them.

Her mistake, however, was to mention that she was also in line to get the role.

“When I auditioned and found out that I was pinned for this role I couldn’t stop jumping with excitement! Now, finding out that a deserving homegirl got it makes the loss so sweet! Congratulations, Thuso, I know you will do Cora so much justice!,” she said in a tweet that no longer shows on her timeline.

Even though Nomzamo might have removed the tweet, nothing on the internet is totally deleted because some users managed to screengrab it.
