Musician Zakes Bantwini recently left listeners shook after he revealed that he was a teen dad on Phat Joe’s show on Radio 2000.
The 38-year-old told Phat Joe that his first born is a 24-year-old fashion student – do the math and it turns out Zakes was only 14-year-old when he became a father for the first time.
When asked if he had his first born at 12-years-old Zakes said, “Yes, I impregnant a girl when I was 12/13-years-old. I didn’t believe it, my mom didn’t believe it, no one believed it. I still don’t believe it.”
Zakes, who is married to media personality Nandi Madida (previously Ngoma) has five kids – three from outside their union. He also revealed that his first-born lives right down the road from him.
The Clap Your Hands hitmaker who is normally mum about his personal life confirmed to Joe that he has a great relationship with his daughter.
