Cape Town – South Africa can claim it's third Miss Universe crown thanks to Zozibini Tunzi!

The event took place on Sunday in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, and just hours before winning, the local star shared a positive message thanking her parents for raising her to become the confident and grounded woman she is.

She wrote on Instagram to her parents in a caption: "I am because you are. You have given me life, you've raised me to be the woman I am, so that I can stand in a faraway land proudly knowing I'm rooted and where I'm from."

Zozo was born in the Eastern Cape, and her parents' names are Philiswa Nadapu and Lungisa Tunzi. She later moved to Cape Town.

Before winning Miss South Africa, the multi-faceted beauty attended the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, and worked as a graduate intern at Ogilvy, according to her Linkedin.
