Mrs SA Matapa Rikhotso gets ready to hand over her crown

Johannesburg – Mrs South Africa 2018 Matapa Maila Rikhotso is getting ready to hand over her crown to her successor on Friday night.  

The beauty queen, who represented the country at the Mrs World pageant and placed second, took the time to reflect on her journey over the last 12 months.  

"My heart is full my cup overflows. To my family n friends, we did it (sic)," she wrote on Instagram.  

Matapa went on to thank everyone who stood by her during her reign, including her colleagues and bosses. "Thank you for acknowledging that I have other interests outside my corporate career and affording me the time to nurture my talents and interests," she said.  

The new Mrs South Africa will be crowned on 8 November at Emperors Palace in Gauteng. Fans can watch the pageant on Sunday 10 November at 18:30 on SABC 3.
