Johannesburg – There's a new challenge making the rounds on social media and it's all about women empowerment.
The #WomenDancingTogether challenge sees ladies dancing or lip syncing to their favourite women empowerment song. Participants are also asked to challenge other ladies to take part once they have shared their own videos.
SA actress Pearl Thusi is one of a few people who was asked to take on the challenge by none other than US stars Angela Basset, Sheila E and Tasha Smith.
In a video shared on Instagram the Hollywood celebs call out the likes of Yara Shahidi, Michelle Obama, Tina Fey and Kerry Washington, with Tasha eventually adding Pearl's name to the list too.
Pearl posted the clip to her own Instagram account, saying: "OMG! THIS JUST HAPPENED!!! Which song should I use for the challenge?" AFRICAN STYLE!!!!"
The Queen Sono star's fans completely flipped out in the comments section, with many suggesting that she dance to a Brenda Fassie track.
