Beloved YoTV child stars: Where are they now?

Cape Town - There was a time in most South African’s lives when they couldn’t wait to come back from school to watch YoTV and see the faces of these presenters.

From Musa who went on to become a medical doctor to Sade who moved to the UK, our childhood presenters are all grown up and have gone on to make meaningful lives for themselves.

Here’s a list of what some of your favourite YoTv stars are doing now.

Musa Mthombeni

Then: He presented numerous YoTV shows like Wildroom, Blue Couch, Big Breakfast and Let’s Get Quizzical on SABC 1.

Musa also worked on radio for Wits FM and YFM and had a television acting role on Intersexions.

Now: In 2017 he joined the panel of the SABC 3 talk show Trending SA. He is also a qualified medical doctor.

Hulisani Ravele

Then: Hulisani Ravele also known as CC presented a number of shows on YoTV from 2000 to 2008 according to TVSA.

She went on to present a show called Quiz Me on SABC 1 after she left YoTV.

Now:  Hulisani is doing amazing things in the media and film industry. She also presented the Vodacom Yebo Millionaire TV show and is currently a radio presenter on radio 947.

Sade Gilberti

Then: Sade presented a number of shows on YoTV but got her start in the television industry at the age of seven.

She won numerous awards including Favourite Youth Presenter. She also presented multiple shows shortly after YoTV such as: Celebrity MasterChef South Africa, MTV Choice, So You Think You Can Dance, The Close Up and Survivor South Africa: Season 3 (Santa Carolina) as a contestant.

Now: Sade has since moved to the UK and currently works as an actress and has also found a love in photography.

Dineo Nchabeleng

Then: Dineo was a presenter on YoTV’s Blue Couch which was a daily current affairs show. She went on to star on TV shows such as Generations where she was cast as Angela.

Now: Dineo established herself as an actress and appears in multiple shows such as Mzansi Magic’s Ring of Lies and award-winning series Lockdown.

Khanya Mkangisa

Then: You might remember her from her early days on shows like YoTV’s Wildroom, Knock Knock and Hectic Nine-9.

She went on to act in TV shows The Lab, Mtunzini.com, uGugu no Andile and Zone 14.

Now: She currently has a role on Mzansi Magic’s The Queen.
