Johannesburg - A big white door opens to welcome us into the modern and spacious apartment.

The interior is tastefully decorated with lots of funky designer touches but what really takes your breath away is the sweeping view from the lounge’s floor-to-ceiling windows.Anyone lucky enough to be living here would feel on top of the world – or like a queen surveying her kingdom. Which is rather fitting because this will soon be the home of the Miss South Africa 2019.

Although she’s only due to be crowned on 9 August DRUM was allowed an exclusive sneak peek at the luxurious apartment where she’ll be living for the next year.

Her prize will include over R3 million in both prize money and sponsorships but undoubtedly one of the biggest perks will be getting to live rent-free in this exquisite two-bedroom apartment in lush and booming Sandton.

“There’s a lot of light in this magical, spacious unit and it was appealing because it offers good photographic opportunities with the view,” says Sergio Aquino, CEO of Lushaka Investments and developer of the apartment complex. “It’s also great that she’ll be living in the middle of the financial capital of Africa.”He’s confident that the apartment, which is worth R5 million to purchase and approximately R42 000 a month as a furnished rental, is a place fit for South Africa’s version of royalty.
