Cape Town - Local reality TV star Papa Penny is mourning the tragic death of his stepson after he committed suicide at the Soshanguve train station on Thursday.
Papa Penny refused to give comment on the death when contacted by DRUM recently.
Taking to his Instagram page, the reality TV star shared how 'disappointed' the family is about the death.
"Nicolas RIP we will always remember you from our reality show session 1 and session 2 [sic] as family we are so disappointed because we were still waiting to see your progress as man who can look after us even your sister and nomi and Penny Penny jr to be they're big brother god bless your road famba kahle." Papa Penny wrote on his Instagram page.
Speaking to The Sowetan, Papa Penny revealed that, "Around 11pm, the grandfather [Nicolas’s grandfather] was looking through his room and found a letter with the message that ‘I’m going to kill myself at Soshanguve train station."
That is when the grandparents notified the police and they were told that the suicide happened around 16:00.
Speaking to DRUM Soshanguve SAPS spokesperson Constable Portia Sebone said that when they found the Nicolas’ body, an inquest case was opened at the Rietgat police station on Thursday since they had not identified the family of the deceased.
Sowetan reported that he will be buried in Soshanguve on Saturday, 3 August 2019.
