Johannesburg - Lockdown actress Zola Nombona is now going to into music.
She showed her versatility and that she has what it takes to go far on season one of Dancing with the Stars South Africa. Even after sustaining an injury during one of the show's rehearsals and struggling with discomfort and swelling to her ankle, the Mthatha-born actress pushed through to the top three with her partner, Tebogo Mashilo.
Now, ready to show Mzansi another side to her creative flares, the 26-year-old actress will be delving into the music industry and releasing a song, Move, featured on the upcoming House of Helen Vol 1 album – dropping in July.
Speaking to DRUM, Zola said her upcoming House song is just to get people dancing.
“It’s a fun song, it’s not too serious. I feature Mpumi Mzobe and I really want people to dance and forget their worries.”
The Lockdown star says music is nothing new for her and she’s featured on previous songs by DJ Sox and DJ Tira, but is ready to take it more seriously.
“I can’t say I’m ready because I am a little nervous but I am ready for any challenge that comes my way. I have always sung – when I was in the Wits [University] choir.”
On whether or not she’ll stop acting to focus on music Zola said, “Never! Acting is also my passion.”
