Most big names in the global hip-hop scene have partnerships with top alcohol brands. So it wasn’t too surprising when South African rapper Riky Rick announced he’d be working with international Cognac brand Rémy Martin.
Rémy Martin was founded in 1724 and is based in Cognac, France. It’s one of the biggest Cognac producers in the world and is also part of the Comité Colbert, an association of luxury businesses which promotes French know-how worldwide.
A few hours before making his big announcement, the Boss Zonke hitmaker posted a teaser video on Twitter hinting that he’d be working with a big name in the Cognac industry and that, together with the brand, he’d be starting a project that would help upcoming producers break into the entertainment industry.
“I got something special coming up for us. This is your time,” he captioned the post.
A few hours later King Kotini finally shared the exciting news. “I’m very proud to announce that Remy Martin [and] I have officially partnered up to create history. Honored to be part of the family.”
