After releasing Rough and Rowdy Way, his first original album in almost a decade, Bob Dylan has now made history on the Billboard 200 chart.

The 79-year-old's album debuted at number two on the chart which ranks the most popular albums of the week in the US.

Rough and Rowdy Ways "makes Dylan the first act to have achieved at least one new top 40-charting album in every decade from the 1960s through the 2020s," Billboard writes.

The album is Bob's "23rd top 10 album and 50th top 40 set," the publication adds.

According to the BBC, Bob's album set another record when it debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, making him the oldest artist to reach number one in the UK charts with an album of new material. Paul Simon previously held the title.
