  • Princess Diana's former royal chef says she once gatecrashed a staff party with Sarah Ferguson.
  • "I was spinning the discs at Balmoral, and Princess Diana and Fergie came down," Darren McGrady said, revealing they were actually invited as a joke.
  • "They only stayed a few minutes, but I spun the discs!" he said.

The former chef of Princess Diana, as well as Queen Elizabeth, is opening up about the time he partied with the royals.

Darren McGrady, who served the royal family for over 10 years, according to Express, opened up about the incident on The Morning Show.

"We had discos, and I was the resident DJ, we had so much fun," he said.

"Once I was spinning the discs at Balmoral, and Princess Diana and Fergie [Sarah Ferguson] came down. They heard the noise and music and came down to see what it was."

He said one of the footmen jokingly invited them in passing – they never expected they'd actually show.

"They only stayed a few minutes, but I spun the discs!" he said excitedly.

While the media often pitted Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson against one another, the Duchess of York has spoken candidly about her friendship with the princess, telling Vogue Arabia in 2019 that the two brought something different to the royal family.

"I brought modern etiquette and fun, with Diana, Princess of Wales," she said.

"Me and Diana had the best time. We really did, no question. I loved her with all my heart."

And this isn't the first time we've heard about the late princess' more mischievous adventures either. Remember that time she dressed in drag to sneak into a club with Freddie Mercury?
