Leapin’ Lizards! Check out these 22 sensational pics from SA’s Annie!

Cape Town – Channel24’s award-winning Behind the Curtain photo essay series ends the year on a high note with an exclusive look behind the curtain of the brand spanking new production of Annie.

This energetic and vibrant production is reimagined for a new generation of theatre goers.

Almost 50 years later the incredible trials and tribulations of the kid with a heart of gold and a quick left hook still brings joy to the heart and a tear to the eye.

Annie, presented by Pieter Toerien and Hazel Feldman, is directed by Nick Winston and choreographed by Heather Scott Martin. The resident director and alternate in the role of Daddy Warbucks for the SA Tour is Anton Luitingh, and the resident choreographer is Duane Alexander.

Following an extensive 6 month nationwide search 3 Annies were found in Cape Town, Emma-Rose Blacher, 13, Lilla Fleischmann, 12, and Caitlin Dicker, 15.

There are 18 orphans in total, three teams of six in each performance, led by Annie. Sandy, the dog in the Cape Town show, is played by two different rescue hounds, trained by Jill Stephens from Lakeside.
