PICS: John Kani, Donald Glover and Beyoncé walk the red carpet at 'The Lion King' premiere

Cape Town – South African actor John Kani walked the red carpet in Los Angeles on Tuesday night at the premiere of his new film, The Lion King.

The much anticipated live-action remake of the Disney classic directed by Jon Favreau will release in cinemas on Friday, 19 July.

John, who voices the role of Rafiki, was joined by his wife and son, Mandi and Atandwa at the glamorous event.

Other cast members in attendance included: Donald Glover, Beyoncé, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, Keegan-Michael Key, Florence Kasumba, Eric Andre, Billy Eichner, Seth Rogen, JD McCrary and Shahadi Wright Joseph.
