After 24 years of being pioneers in gospel music, iconic choir Joyous Celebration (JC) is not showing signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Their plans of having their annual Easter show at Carnival City were put on hold due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Yet days ago, JC released a double album, called The Rock, filled with worship and praise songs .

"We have been through a lot. But have never changed the concept and vision. We have been successful throughout," one of the founders, Lindelani Mkhize, tells Move!

The album was recorded in December at Sun City. Like with every record’s release, this year’s title has a profound meaning too.

"We have had to sit back and reflect. God has been great. He has been a rock and has sustained us for all these years," Lindelani says. He says they also marvel at the love their fans have for them.

They consistently keep on supporting them no matter the conditions in their personal lives. "They too, have been our rock throughout the years," he adds.

Currently, JC is doing very well on musical platforms. "We could not stop this album release because we wanted to offer our fans something they would appreciate, to comfort them during this time and remind them the God is still with them," Lindelani says.
