Cape Town - Is there anything Kendrick Lamar can’t do? The rapper had a great start of the year with his The Damn world tour, made history by becoming the first hip-hop act to win the Pulitzer Prize for music and won big at the Grammy Awards.
Kendrick made his small screen debut in the crime series Power. The Humble hitmaker takes on the role of a homeless drug addict in an episode titled Happy Birthday, alongside 50 Cent’s character, reports Metro. The episode aired in the United States on Sunday.
According to Pitchfork, the drama’s executive producer, Mark Canton, said everyone involved was thrilled to have Kendrick on the show. “Kendrick is a once-in-a-generation talent and [we] felt it would be exciting to create a role for him in Power.”
According to Destiny Kendrick has also been invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ music branch after the success of the Black Panther soundtrack.
