Cape Town - Channel24 reached out to Date My Family bachelorette Thando Nkomo to find out if she took Sphephelo up on his invitation to a second date.
After meeting with three families for dinner and moderate interrogation, Sphephelo, a hospitality student from Durban chose songbird, Thando from Durban as a potential love interested.
Despite his initial concerns about Thando, who goes by the stage name Blvckbiird, having one too many male friends, Sphe decided that the 22-year-old musician from Durban's family represented her the best.
Unfortunately, the date was off to a rocky start, but the chef redeemed himself after complimenting Thando on her beautiful eyes, and asking her on a second date, to which she responded: "Yes."
Speaking to Channel24, Thando revealed that the couple unfortunately never went on that second date, as they were "not compatible," and she had booked a gig on the same day.
"People told me that he gave the tickets to his friend."
Despite not finding love on the reality dating TV show, Thando said that she had fun throughout the process.
She said: "Filming was exciting and different for me. I didn't expect it to be so demanding. But I enjoyed it, and that is why I managed to stay true to myself throughout the process. It was such an amazing and friendly environment to be in."
Thando says that she isn't looking for love right now, but rather "waiting" and concentrating on her career at the moment.
"It's going great in that my career is booming. So I'm focused on that until I can find a guy who can act right."
