Cape Town - Speaking to Rapport, the woman who was allegedly caught in a hotel room with Derick Hougaard by his girlfriend, Nádine, says that they never spent one second in bed together and that she only helped the intoxicated former rugby player safely to bed.
According to the woman, the only time she was in the hotel room with Derick was when she was looking for her car key, and that reports stating otherwise have been twisted.
Huisgenoot published photos of Derick and a blonde marketing assistant, having drinks at the hotel bar earlier that night, as well as photos of the pair "caught" in the hotel room the following morning.
Rapport also spoke to Nadine's spokesperson Janis Ellis, who said that the popular celebrity couple has patched up their broken relationship, and are in regular contact.
Attempts by Channel24 to reach Janis have been unsuccessful as he has not responded to our emails and his cellphone is switched off.
The 26-year-old marketing assistant maintains that the hotel security suggested they book a hotel room, as Derick was inebriated and not in a state to drive.
Janis said that Nádine did not find Dannel and Derick in bed together and that the pair did not sleep together.
Nádine's mother and manager Carine Crystil had also not responded Channel24's Whatsapp messages at the time of publishing.
Both Nádine and Derick have remained mum on the matter, and have not posted anything on social media following the scandal.
Derick and Nádine, who have been dating for 20 months, confirmed their relationship in February 2018 and made theirfirst red carpet appearance together at the 2018 Miss South Africa pageant.
Derick and his ex-wife, Afrikaans singer Karlien van Jaarveld, officially divorced in 2015. The couple shares two children together.
