LISTEN: Philip Tabane remembered through his music

Johannesburg – South Africa mourned the loss of another musical legend on Friday when the news of the death of Philip Tabane spread.  

Born in Pretoria, Philip Tabane displayed a love for music from a young age, forming a trio called Malombo Jazzmen.  

According to News24 a Doctorate of Philosophy in Music was conferred on him by the University of Venda in 1998. The legend also walked away with a Sama in the Best Single category for his track Ke a Bereka.  

Other popular songs by the star include Nkupi and Muvhango.
